First Resource Bank’s decisioning window for NetTeller PosPay is open 6am to 11:30am, since we resolve our PosPay and NSF by noon.  A purportedly later window of 3pm is probably due to something specific to that institution’s core processing capabilities; for example the other institution could have a real-time core that processes their incoming cash letter from the Fed and dumps items from the cash letter into the positive pay exception queue immediately, instead of going through an overnight flagging process like Silverlake does.  Having a late cutoff like 3pm on Silverlake could put your institution at risk of generating late returns on check items, which is clearly something we avoid with our cutoff time.

Good Morning All,

I was hoping someone would be willing to share their decisioning window for NetTeller Positive Pay exception items. We currently have a short decisioning window of 8:30am-10:30am and that has worked for us in the past, however we are growing our footprint and finding that new customers are telling us that other banks they have dealt with allow(ed) them to decision items up until 3:00pm. Would you share your customer decision window times with us? And what are the positives or negatives you experience with having that timeslot?
