Good morning,

We remove the deceased name and relationship 2-3 months after notification if it’s a spousal only account. If there is another joint owner other than spouse, we close the account and the surviving owner can open a new account.

I was wondering if others remove a deceased person from an active checking account, if so how long after you find out they are deceased would you remove the name?
