We do the same thing here – we set up different tran codes and linked them in LNPAR > Fee Processing Parameter Maintenance. We use the tran code to differentiate between a reversal (say, for a
correction or something) vs a waived fee (maybe OK’d by the loan officer). We use cognos to report on reversed vs waived and aggregate by loan officer.

I am on the loan side. We do track fee waivers. When you go in to waive the fee you have the option to add a description. We have standard descriptions. There is a report that we generate
out of Cognos monthly that is cumulative, and we track that way. It’s after the fact and not real time but it is an effective way to monitor. We built the report forward thinking with monitoring for waivers for UDAAP.

You have to set up for tracking. Smartsheet does many things, too much to explain over email. I would suggest reaching out to a representative and get some expert advice from them directly.
Good to note, it is not integrated with JH, it’s a manual track unfortunately, but it works for our purposes and current volume.

We are in the process of implementing a fee reversals procedure and were curious if anyone has implemented something similar at their institution and what they have in place to track limits. For example, we are allowing X amount of dollars
per year per individual to return on overdraft fees and are looking to track how much the individual has reversed towards the limit.
