One of the reasons that we do is so that a 1098 is produced with interest paid at settlement and points paid if applicable. We have credit reporting turned off for our loans held for sale.
We do an accrual adjustment to remove the accrued interest when paying off the loan, a prin paydown, and remove escrow by using a t/c. We don’t want it to represent a payment that came from the customer.
