Subject: SilverLake MA-RUG Checking account relationship question
Good day all. Happy Friday and Welcome Spring!
Easy question and I'm hopeful I can get some feedback. Does anyone offer a deposit product that will waive the monthly fee based on the relationship balances? I reached out to JH and was told that only the Primary
holder's relationship balance(s) in other accounts, as indicated in the parameters of the service charge code, will drive the calculation for the waiver. Any joint holders on the account will not have their relationship balances considered for the waiver.
Example, customer (mom) has a large relationship with the bank. Their son wants to open an account and have mom as joint on the account. The son does not have any other accounts and carries a low balance. We
would like mom's joint relationship to be considered in the calculation for the relationship waiver because her balances exceed the requirement. According to JH, that option does not exist.
Wondering if anyone has found a way to make this work, other than custom. I appreciate your feedback!! Hope to see you all at the conference in May!
